Manual Therapy

What is manual therapy by a physical therapist?

It is a treatment that uses hands to stretch, pull, press, bend, and move joints, muscles, and nerves to restore balance and proper alignment.

Duration and frequency of treatment

Each session lasts 15-45 minutes, depending on the symptoms and the affected area. The frequency is 1-2 times per week, with a total of 5-10 sessions, depending on the individual’s condition.

Feelings during and after the treatment

During the treatment, you may feel tension in the stretched area or a tingling sensation in the nearby areas. The pressed area may feel sore or aching.

After the treatment, you may feel relaxed, relieved of pain, or some people may experience soreness in the treated area.

Who is manual therapy by a physical therapist suitable for?
